March Round Up!
March has been a busy month for Dads Rock!
We were really excited to launch our new national service, P.S. Dads Rock, earlier this month. The first of its kind in Scotland, the service provides weekly peer support for new and expectant Dads in Scotland who feel their mental health could be better. They're matched with highly-trained peer support volunteers, who are more experienced Dads, to give emotional support during this life changing time. P.S. Dads Rock is live and open for referrals or self-referrals here: P.S. Dads Rock
On Saturday 26th March we enjoyed a trip to the V&A Museum in Dundee, giving Dads a chance to meet other Dads and take part in lots of fun, design inspired activities with their kids. Exploring and playing in the wonderful Yinka Ilori maze (pictured above) was a definite favourite! Our next monthly Dads Trip is to LOVE Gorgie Farm on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th April. Book now: LOVE Gorgie Farm
We were delighted to have 20 parents complete our 6 week Raising Children With Confidence course - congratulations to them all! One attendee said:
"I am doing parenting classes every night of the week. I found your class to be the best by far, and the most enrolled students I have seen so far! Great job leading this class you are both great.I really appreciate your help thank you so much!"
If you would like to hear about the latest findings from evidence and research to explain the development of emotional wellbeing, look out for the RCWC course running again later this year.
Both our in person and online Dads Antenatal workshops were busy in March with 7 Dads attending in person in Glasgow and 18 at the online session. We've got an in person Antenatal workshop for Dads in Edinburgh next month to give hands on experience of changing nappies and bathing babies: Dads Antenatal
