This year we have welcomed students to work with us to improve the outcomes of dads, families and children. With the help of University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier University we have managed to recruit an amazing four new recruits to our team! We caught up with them to see how they were settling into their new roles at Dads Rock.

Emilѐ was the first social work student that the team welcomed and she had a few words to say. “Dads Rock have had a massive impact on my life over the last couple of months, they have made me feel comfortable about working from home and have helped me maintain a good work/life balance, it has been such a learning curve for me.”

Another social work student, Madeleine, said “This is my first virtual placement, I underestimated how challenging it would be, however, Dads Rock creates such a friendly and comfortable environment that it has allowed me to learn and grow. Being able to undertake additional training programmes that will benefit me in my degree has been super helpful.”

Kelsey, our marketing student told us “This is my first time working from home and Dads Rock has made it so easy to settle into that lifestyle, every member of the team is super approachable which makes the transition easier. Dads Rock have offered and provided me so many opportunities for my future and they see this as more than just a placement which has been great.”

The team has also just welcomed Kim on board and she is another social work student who is super excited to get started on her placement.

So far, we are loving working with these students and it is great to see them flourish in what they do best. It’s a real bonus for Dads Rock having these students on board - not only do they provide us with additional resources, but bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the team. We hope we can keep up these partnerships with universities to grow our student alumni in the future!
