Hope you’re having an amazing winter holiday and enjoyed the new year celebrations. We are rocking straight into January with lots of activities for Dad and families so click the links below or check the calendar for up-to-date information on what’s on! We hope to see you soon!
GROUPS
Our Playgroups for Dads/male carers and children under 5 are in Edinburgh on Saturdays and Sundays at 10am at Gorgie Mem and Glasgow on Saturday at 10am at Easterhouse Sports Centre. We’ll be starting back in Gorgie from 11th January and Glasgow from XXX. These are the perfect place to meet other Dads and connect with your wee one through play, song and stories.
Our Dads and Baby Groups on Tuesday at 18:30 at Gorgie Mem, Edinburgh and every Wednesday at 18:30 at Ardeer Neighbourhood Centre Creche, Stevenston. These groups are open to all Dads and babies under 1, and is the perfect place to connect with your baby, meet other Dads and get some friendly advice from our staff Greg and Ryan.
TRIPS
No trips in January but we’re already planning for February! After Storm Bert stopped our trips to Kelvingrove and the National Museum we are hoping that we can return to these venues to discover the amazing exhibits they have on offer on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd. Workshops
Dads Antenatal: January kicks off with our Online antenatal workshop on 6th January followed by an in person session in Gorgie, Edinburgh on 23rd. These workshops are open to all Dads-to-be to help them get hands-on experience and advice prior to the birth of a child.Sign up to come along: Online. Edinburgh
First Aid: Our popular First Aid workshop run by First Stop is in Gorgie, Edinburgh on 16th January. The two hour session will cover the fundamentals of First Aid, with a particular focus on First Aid for children and Babies. We will cover choking, CPR , burns and more. This workshop fills up quickly so sign up: First Aid
Hair Workshop: You can come along to find out how to use all those ties and baubles and how to look after your child’s hair. Learn how to create tear free plaits and ponytails in Gorgie, Edinburgh on 18th January. Sign up Hair
Sleep: Our online workshop is on 3rd February and will help you and your child get a good night sleep! Top tips for a sucessful bedtime routine and to improve your child’s sleep patterns. Watch our video and sign up sleep

December ROUNDUP
We were sad to say goodbye to our awesome Family Worker Amy who has worked tirelessly over the past 5 years supporting Young Dads and working her magic at playgroups and workshops with families in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Amy started off as a part time Family Worker and went full time when we were got additional funding to start providing services in Glasgow. Her dedication and compassion have made a lasting impact, not only on the families she’s supported but also on our team. We wish her all the very best in her new role and know she’ll bring the same passion and awesomeness to this next chapter in her journey. She will be deeply missed by all of us!
We held 3 awesome parties thanks to everyone who donated to our Christmas Appeal! Families came together in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Saltcoats and Santa 🎅 even took time out of his busy schedule to join us! We also had some great nights out for Dads without the kids! We attended events at the City Chambers for Preventing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse in Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Housing Crisis.
Lisa went along to visit Busy Bees at Midlothian Newbyres after their fantastic sponsored walk raised over £1670. Thanks to all the families involved for their fundraising efforts.
Scottish Enterprise held a festive breakfast with colleagues donating to Dads Rock raising £400.
