July Round Up!

School’s out, but not for our Dads Rock Academy Summer Camp!

We had another busy month at Dads Rock in July, including more of our popular weekend play sessions and our Dads Rock Academy Music Summer Camp.

Our Award Winning Dads Rock Academy ran its Music Summer Camp for young people aged 7 years and up. The camp ran for 2 weeks from 5th July, giving students the opportunity to learn and play a variety of different instruments, work together writing songs and play together in small groups and bands.

Our fab Dads Rock Academy music tutors also worked with Capital Theatres, Edinburgh to produce music for their July Contactless Afternoon Tea Party for people living with Dementia.

Our Dads in the Woods outdoor play sessions continued to be busy as ever in their new location at Craigmillar Castle Park. We were delighted to receive a donation of items from Waitrose for our playgroups, including some tasty marshmallows for toasting at one of our Dads in the Wood sessions!

We’ve enjoyed being back at our Sunday Playgroup at 6VT in Edinburgh city centre. These weekly playgroups are a great opportunity for Dads and kids aged 0-5 years old to play together and meet other Dads and kids. Our city centre venue at 6VT offers indoor and outdoor space, so our Sunday Playgroups are fun whatever the weather!

We continued running our other services throughout July, including online parenting skills workshops, our Dads Buggy Walk, Dads Talk video calls and our Dads Perinatal Group for Dads in Portobello and Craigmillar. Take a look at our Calendar to find out what we have coming up in August.
