Perinatal Peer Support Volunteer Role Profile
Hours - One to three hours per week
Responsible to - Dads Rock Perinatal Support lead
Location - online/phone (open to people across Scotland)
One in ten Dads/Dads to be are affected by mental health issues in the Perinatal period (during pregnancy and up until their baby’s first birthday).
This project is the first of its kind in Scotland. The only service focused on supporting Dads during this life changing time.
As a Perinatal peer support volunteer you will be matched with a Dad/Dad-to-be, who you will help on a one to one basis, building a trusting relationship and reducing social isolation. The role requires regular liaison and cooperation with the rest of the staff and volunteers of Dads Rock.
Duties and responsibilities
Availability for at least 1 hour a week

Able to access Zoom
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for Dads to support Dads. Full training and support will be given including Perinatal Mental Health and Child Protection. You will also gain practical experience of helping families affected by Perinatal Mental Health issues with ongoing support from our staff team throughout your befriending journey. You will be supporting Dads from across Scotland. You will meet a range of new people and be filled with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that you have helped make an unforgettable, positive difference to parents, babies and families.
