Single Parents Day 2025 - Celebrating the Single Parents Community

Every year on the 21st of March, Single Parents Day is celebrated around the world. At Dads Rock, we have taken the opportunity to partner with 16 organisations across the UK and Ireland to launch a collective campaign under the theme, Single Parent Community.

Creating Change: Why We Support the #SingleParentCommunity

Did you know that 25% of families in Scotland are led by a single parent? Unfortunately, the challenges single parents face are often overlooked or underestimated. Through this campaign, we aim to reduce the stigma surrounding single parenthood and raise awareness of the support available. Our goal is to spark open conversations about the realities of single parenting and foster stronger connections between single parents and the organizations dedicated to helping them.

One Parent Families Scotland - Providing expert advice, practical support and campaigning with single parents in Scotland. 

Single Parent Rights - The single parent led movement fighting to end single parent discrimination. 

Single Parents Wellbeing CIC - Peer led and connected to being a single parent household in Wales. 

Single Parent Information Network - Providing information and support to single parents in Sussex. 

Single Parent Support and Advice Services - Helping single parents by giving them access to services and support.

Gingerbread - We're here to fight for single parents and their children.

Fife Gingerbread - We support and empower Fife's lone parents and families in need for better todays and brighter tomorrows. 

BAME Lone Parents Network - Supporting and empowering single parents with advice, support and community programmes. 

Stand Up Fathers - Supporting dads to navigate and improve their co-parenting relationships.  

Frolo - An app to connect, support and empower single parents through community and dating.

Asian Single Parents Network - We provide social, emotional, and practical support to build confidence, prevent isolation, and combat the stigma attached to being a single parent in the South Asian community.

NEESIE - Facilitating prosperity for single mums and women with children. 

Horizon – We provide practical and emotional support and advice for single parents in Staffordshire.

Parenting Focus - Dedicated to supporting families across Northern Ireland through parenting support, practical resources and advocacy.

Dads Rock - We provide the tools dads and families need to give their children the best possible start in life. 

One Family Ireland - We provide services for people parenting alone, sharing parenting, or going through separation. 

Fathers Network Scotland - Improving children's lives and outcomes through the positive involvement of dads, father-figures and whole families. 

Get Involved: Raising Awareness and Breaking Stigma for Single Parents

As we celebrate Single Parents Day, we invite you to join us in spreading the message of support and solidarity for single parents. Whether you're a single parent yourself, know someone who is, or simply believe in the importance of raising awareness, you can play a crucial role in breaking the stigma surrounding single-parent families.

At Dads Rock we welcome ALL dads and male carers—whether you're single or in a relationship, from any background or nationality, including gay, trans, and non-binary dads. We understand that families come in all shapes and sizes, and our groups and activities are here to support you, no matter your journey.
