What’s on for Dads this August?
Sign up for the wee wander and raise money for Dads and families by doing the Kiltwalk! Come and join #TeamDadsRock in Edinburgh on Sunday 17th September - wear your kilt, sign up the family and it’s dog friendly too. The Dads Rock team is so excited to share the events and workshops lined up for the month of August with you!
There’s a lot of fun events planned for the month of August. Thanks to everyone who signed up to join us at Liberton fire station - hopefully they’ll be no emergencies this visit! We’re also looking forward to seeing everyone who’s coming along to the Dads Trip to the Fringe festival on August 12th when we go to see the trash test dummies show - this slapstick comedy routine should have us laughing all the way home! Although these activities are fully booked there’s still time to join us for other event’s below…
We’ve been invited to join some wonderful events hosted by the Edinburgh Book Festival this August. Come to “Are you sitting comfortably” and enjoy a magical half hour of reading stories. Register here for August 22nd: Are you Sitting Comfortably? Then on the 26th of August you can come meet the Gruffalo! Join him for a joyful half hour of fun, dancing, and games. Our favourite workshops are back as well. If you have a baby on the way and want help with practical tips on how to best care for your wee one come to our antenatal workshop. One will be hosted on August 14th online, you can sign up here: Antenatal Online. We’ll also be hosting a First Aid workshop in Penicuik with a particular focus on babies and children. Learn how to do CPR, help a choking child, and more. Register here for August 21st: First Aid.
For all Dads in Edinburgh and Glasgow, you can join us on Saturdays for “Dads in the Woods”. Spend quality time in nature with the wee one. July Roundup
The month of July was filled with smiles, laughter, and music! We started off with the Dads Rock Academy summer camp. Kids ages 7-14 rocked out creating original songs with music tutors and peers.
Additionally, we hosted a variety of activities, including workshops, such as Dads Antenatal, group sessions including Dads in the Woods, and of course our Sunday Playgroup.
Team Dads Rock also wanted to say a big #ThankYou to Swanston Brasserie for picking us as charity of the month. We love supporting our local businesses and we’re grateful that they were able to spotlight all the work we do with Dads like our New Dad support, workshops, and playgroups! If your workplace likes to link up with local charities please do let us know!
