GAVIN
I have greatly enjoyed being a member of the Dads Rock board over the last couple of years, as well as a user of its services with my young children. It has been particularly pleasing to see Dads Rock work through its financial challenges, enabling it now to be much more ambitious about its plans for the future. I would love to continue to be a part of the board as a trustee and increase my support by taking on the role of Treasurer.
My background is in finance and the military. I currently run a market research team in the Royal Bank of Scotland, having previously worked in strategy, project management and business development roles in the bank. Prior to working for the bank, I was a Company Commander in the Royal Regiment of Scotland, leading infantry soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. During my time in the army I worked closely with some young fathers who struggled to manage work and family life, and saw the positive impact of even a little support. This is something I greatly enjoyed and is the main reason for joining the Dads Rock board in the first place.
In my personal life I am a keen sportsman and when I get a chance I love watching live music. I live in Dalgety Bay with my wife, Nikki, five year old son, Ryan, and three year old daughter, Eva.
SUSAN
Mum of three, with 30+ years in the early learning and childcare sector from entry level to board level.
Susan has been a Dads Rock Trustee for 3 years and has been involved in sourcing funding, taken part in events, packed bags, attended parties and spent time at the playgroups.
Susan is Chief Exec of a third sector childcare organisation working closely with major philanthropists and the Scottish Government.
Blessed with a great dad and a husband who is the best dad to their three daughters, Susan is committed to making a difference. Her reason for being involved with Dads Rock is her belief that all dads and their children deserve the best opportunities to grow and develop together.
